My client is a leading UK investor focused on the technology, software and services sectors. They are looking to add an Investment Director to their growing deal team, who will be involved in all aspects of the investment cycle, taking a leading role in originating, assessing, and executing deals.

The successful applicant will be a highly ambitious, commercially-savvy individual with a strong work ethic and interest to be involved in the growth journey of a unique investor. The role is likely best suited to those with a minimum 6-10 years professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years corporate finance/M&A experience.

Principal Responsibilities:

The Investment Director will primarily be focused with the origination and execution of deals out of the current fund and beyond:

  • Deal origination and sourcing opportunities
  • Execution of deals
  • Oversee other investment team members
  • Working with the portfolio companies to help them realise their value

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong academics, including a degree (minimum 2.1)
  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Significant experience of deal processes and strong understanding of different deal structures
  • Ideally the candidate will have worked directly under the lead Partner/Director on 5-10 end-to-end transaction processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport quickly with a range of key stakeholders; able to effectively articulate the client’s proposition
  • Good commercial instincts; able to have a business discussion, as well as identify rough diamonds
  • Strong analytical skills – both quantitative and qualitative. The candidate will need to build and understand three-way integrated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow forecasts
  • Advanced excel capabilities and proven analytical ability, able to manipulate large data sets

Location & Remuneration:

  • Central London
  • Experience dependent, base salary circa £80K – £100K
